IGCSE: The Bridge From French School to English University

Is Your Child Ready for Success in an English-Speaking University?

Teaching With Class provides iGCSE literacy classes, allowing students to obtain a world-recognized English language qualification while developing the critical reading and analytical writing skills that they need in an English language university program.

Exam prep classes will get them into the program. Teaching With Class will give them the skills they need to stay in it.

Meet Sarah, a bright young student whose story might sound familiar to many parents in France. Despite her excellent English and outstanding grades from her French school, Sarah faced an unexpected challenge when she entered a British International School for her A-Levels. Like many students in French international programs, she discovered that speaking English fluently wasn't enough – success in an English-speaking academic environment requires a whole different set of skills.

Sarah's journey highlights what we see every day at Teaching With Class: the gap between being comfortable in English and truly thriving in an English-speaking academic environment. While Sarah is adapting beautifully now with proper support, her experience reminds us how crucial it is to prepare our children early for their international academic futures.

We understand your dreams for your child's future. You want them to have every opportunity, including the choice to study at prestigious anglophone universities worldwide. Many parents believe that the BFI (baccalauréat français international), with its English-language components, will fully prepare their children for this path. However, while the BFI offers excellent English-language instruction, it still follows French academic methods and expectations. This can create unexpected challenges when students enter English-speaking universities, where the approach to analysis, essay writing, and critical thinking differs significantly from the French system.

That's why we've created something special at Teaching With Class – a program that goes beyond just teaching in English to truly prepare students for the anglophone academic environment. Our iGCSE program immerses students in the specific analytical and writing approaches they'll need for success in English-speaking universities, whether in the UK, US, Canada, or beyond.

Our virtual classrooms are vibrant spaces where students don't just learn to pass a test – they develop into confident, articulate thinkers. While we thoroughly prepare students for the internationally recognized iGCSE qualification, our true passion lies in nurturing the skills that will serve them throughout their academic journey and beyond.

Your child will dive into engaging novels that spark their imagination, craft compelling opinion pieces that develop their voice, and analyze historical and political articles that sharpen their critical thinking. These are the very skills that make the difference between simply getting accepted to a university and truly flourishing there.

Unlike standard exam prep courses (which certainly have their place), our program builds a foundation for lasting academic success. We're preparing students not just for an exam or university admission, but for the exciting academic journey that follows.

The iGCSE qualification, based on the British National Curriculum, offers a perfect framework for this preparation. It introduces students to the analytical approaches and writing styles valued by English-speaking universities – quite different from the French baccalauréat international (BFI) system.

Join us at Teaching With Class, where we're not just teaching English – we're empowering your child to become a confident, capable participant in the international academic community. Let's work together to ensure your child doesn't just reach their academic goals – they exceed them.

Would you like to learn more about how we can help your child develop these essential skills? We'd love to chat about your child's specific needs and goals.
