Donovan and James went to a spooky, noisy, huge house with a lot of people. Donovan and James are kids who are 10 years old.  Donovan is brave and James is adventurous and they like Halloween. It was Halloween night and they wanted to go trick or treating. They went to the big house because there were a lot of people. The bricks on the front of the house were breaking, crumbling onto the sidewalk. The people were weird and they looked spooky. They did not have a costume! They had  a lot of sweet candies who that looked like pepper. So Donovan asked for candies but his hand was shaking and they gave him some.

Then they asked if Donovan and James wanted to eat with them so they said yes. James was so excited to go inside but Donovan wanted to go home. And so they went inside and the door closed and the people in the house were gone so they were stuck in the huge house.

There was a lot of junk in the room, there were  some dead animals that stunk and their eyes were watching. There was a puppet and on his t-shirt there were some weird words.

So James  read them out loud: “DEAD DEAD YOU READ DEAD!”

The boys’ hearts stopped as the puppet’s head turned toward them.  In a spooky sing-song voice, the puppet said, “Hello boys!  Would you stay with me tonight?”

The boys was  were so scared that they ran away

They were on the sidewalk and they were reassured. 

But the people were ghosts and so the boys fainted on the ground.

But when they were awake the puppet was in Donovan’s backpack and said “We meet again? Now you guys are really gonna stay with me…..!”...
